Whilst at the RAM he was a Kohn Foundation scholar which gave him the opportunity to participate in the Bach Cantata series under  such luminaries as Sir John Butt, Masaaki Suzuki, and Philippe Herreweghe. As an oratorio soloist, Johannes has performed extensively across the UK with a broad repertoire encompassing Bach St John Passion, B Minor Mass, Handel’s Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall, Mozart’s Requiem at Cadogan Hall, and other repertoire at Lincoln Cathedral, Bath Abbey, Hereford Cathedral, St Giles Edinburgh, and Barnes Festival.

His recital accomplishments include appearances at Wigmore Hall, Leeds Lieder, St John Smith Square, Trinity College Cambridge, Ludlow Song Festival, and international engagements in China. He also participated in Wigmore Hall’s French Song Exchange and recorded Wolf’s Goethe Lieder with the RAM Song Circle.
